Ellen and Elizabeth are Professional Genealogists from Chicago Irish Genealogy. With over 7 years of genealogy experience researching the Irish for clients, we can trace your ancestors anywhere in the US, Ireland, Canada, England, Europe and more.
In fact, we are located in downtown Chicago and within walking distance of the Cook County Courthouse, Chicago Harold Washington Library, Chicago History Museum and the Newberry Library.
Affordably priced, we are often less than half of what large genealogy companies charge, and you can hire us for projects big or small as we do not have a minimum fee.
In addition to building detailed ANCESTRY TREES for families, we specialize in:
We are tenacious and thorough, which is why Law Firms and Private Investigators from around the world have hired us in locating missing heirs. We have also helped edit a fictional story about an adoption for a famous Irish author. And recently, we wrapped up a 4-year project with former producers of the show "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE". This project included extensive research in the US, Ireland and Eastern Europe (Russia/Ukraine). Our unique personal experience even includes the discovery of our Mayflower ancestors, and finding the birth parents of our adopted grandmother in Chicago circa 1900.
TESTIMONIAL FROM BETSY
Ellen's knowledge of local and world resources helped us break through a family genealogy brick wall. She helped us make connections back to Ireland providing birth and baptism records as well as historical context to help us understand how our grandmother came to be born in an Irish workhouse. Ellen expertly maneuvered local historical newspapers, and court documents to uncover an amazing family story that included a kidnapping and the notorious Chicago Levee district. We so enjoyed having Ellen as our guide in exploring our family history!
We’d like to help you as well! Give us your research goal, tell us about your mystery, and we’ll get to work.
